Jim has continued to be hard at work with the project of transforming the upstairs hallway and bedroom of his 150 year old home. Jim is about 150 years old...oh, typographical error...Jim's HOUSE is about 150 years old but thanks to Matthews & Fields fine wood products there is an amazing facelift going on... Matthews & Fields 1 x 6 tongue and groove premium pine, there is no need to say more, but we will. In an "older" house like this there is often dented plaster, wood lathe, you know the problems, but what an amazing transformation in Jim's house and if you have some of the same issues we HIGHLY recommend Matthews & Fields lumber for a FINE LOOKING updated beautiful wood finish.
Jim's latest project is remodeling his upstairs hallway and bedroom. He has always wanted to update that drywall and lathe walls. They've been painted over the years but everything in an old farm house is uneven and it's a challenge for sure! The walls and ceiling were completely out of whack. For example one end was off an inch to up to 3 inches at the other end! He had to get creative! All the existing doors had to be replaced, and new ones cut to fit. None were regulation sizes. A nightmare!
Plus allowances had to be made for new carpeting. (The old carpet is going to be ripped out soon)
So he ordered these beautiful pine t&g boards from Matthews & Fields:
