The Harman Hardwood Flooring website is so informative it should really be the first step for anyone interested in hardwood flooring.  One of our favorite parts of their website is the Hardwood Wizard.  On this page you are given the opportunity to choose a species of wood (Ash, Beech, Birch, Brazilian Cherry etc.).  Once you choose the species of wood you are given a variety of color swatches to choose from.  The wizard will display a room with the flooring you have chosen.  You would be surprised how helpful this is!  You might think you want a certain color/shade until you play with the wizard and then all bets are off!
