SAINT’S PLACE SUPER SALE, AUG. 5-8, 2025
RAISES FUNDS TO HELP LEGAL REFUGEES
Thousands of high quality new or gently used items will be for sale at the most popular charity sale event in the Rochester region ─ The Saint’s Place Super Sale.
The Annual Super Sale Fundraiser will be held Aug. 5-8, 2025 in the large gym of the Parish Center at St. John of Rochester Church, 10 Wickford Way, Fairport, right off Route 31.
All the sale items will be located on one floor in the air-conditioned gym in the Parish Center. There will be plenty of parking spots in the large lot on the campus.
The success of the Super Sale is vital to providing funds for helping legal refugees resettle in our community. Saint’s Place provides new beds and mattresses, household furnishings and clothing for Rochester’s four seasons, including warm winter clothing and boots.
“Because we don’t have as many refugees arriving in Rochester as in previous years, we have pivoted to reach out to those who have lived in Rochester for a few years,” said Michele Quinn, Saint’s Place executive director. “We are providing additional clothing to them and home assistance where needed. Refugees need time to adjust to their new surroundings, learn the English language and obtain education and training to gain employment. With the support of the community, Saint’s Place can help refugees envision a future filled with possibilities.”
The Saint’s Place Educational Initiative is a key component to helping refugees get out of living in poverty. Since this program began in 2018, nearly 300 refugees have received more than $300,000 in tuition assistance, computers, textbooks, driving lessons, tools and other educational needs. The organization’s two tutoring programs help refugees of all ages learn English.
“We especially want to help female refugees who may never had the opportunity to get an education in their previous homeland,” Quinn said. “Helping these women learn English, get an education and a job can have a great impact on their children’s success.”
Proceeds from the sale contribute to helping Saint’s Place achieve its mission of “welcoming the stranger.” As in previous years, Super Sale shoppers will have access to great deals on purses, jewelry, dishes, glassware, small kitchen appliances, furniture, linens, electronics, books, toys, artwork, sporting goods, bikes, clothing and collectible items, all donated by the Rochester community.
