Well, now, we're in August already! Holy cow! In Upstate NY we need to get in as much summer as possible in a short window! Fortunately? well maybe for some, it's been hot for an extended time, maybe a little too hot to really enjoy being outside. And the rain has held off which is good for outside activities not so much for farmer's crops or your backyard garden. But great for pools and swimming! So tax time is over, so you don't need to do anything more. Sorry, but wrong. You should be getting your finances in order, make sure you don't have to pay like you did for last years taxes. What you need is an accountant, let them talk to you and take a look at your income, expenses, etc. to get you in good shape for next tax time. Ok,  a quick vent. People call our office asking how much a home inspection is. We get the "OH! wow, really that much?" occasionally. Our rates are lower than most, and you get a lot of great information about the house you're looking to purchase. Seriously, if you can't afford the home inspection you shouldn't be buying a house. Why would you pass on a home inspection giving you so much information on a house that you're spending a ridiculous amount of money to buy, which could be the biggest financial mistake of your life!  When looking at a house, most people are looking at 'oh how nice the paint color is', and 'we can put the tv on that wall', 'oh good there's two bathrooms',,etc. Why is the basement wall freshly painted? How come there's a couple brand new ceiling tiles? Why is there a fan running? Or dehumidifier on? Oh, so many more things that are red flags to a home inspector that a new buyer knows nothing about.  

What happens is, the buyer passes on the home inspection, or thinks the rate was too high, then buys the house for more than it's worth, have over-extended their credit and drained their bank accounts. Now they're in the house and are finding things aren't at all as they thought. They get estimates to have repairs done which are a lot more than expected. So the buyer, now homeowner, is stuck, no money, lots of repairs or replacements need to be done, and no credit allowance. No recourse.  Some of these problems could very well be very important safety issues.  

Yes, we may be bias because home inspections are Jim Salmon's business, livelihood, but an informed potential homebuyer is smart.

Also, the solution to get rid of weeds, this takes maybe 24 hours to see results and may need to be applied every few weeks because it is natural and doesn't kill the roots etc. like commercial applications;  

Instead of using Round-Up try this. Safer for the environment.

1 gallon white vinegar 

2 cups Epsom Salt

1/4 cup Dawn Dish Soap-blue original

Combine in a sprayer container and apply to weeds or grass you want to get rid of. Spray in the morning after the dew has evaporated. Natural News claims weeds will be gone by end of day-maybe a little longer!
