Thanksgiving Sanity.  That's what we're calling our tips this month!  Hopefully these will help you as you take on the great task of Thanksgiving dinner.

Use a thermos to keep your gravy hot, as soon as it's the perfect thickness fill the gravy boat and put the rest in a thermos.

When the mashed potatoes are done, set the temp on your crock pot to low, scoop the potatoes in and stir every hour or so to keep them smooth and silky.

The night before Thanksgiving, let the turkey sit overnight in the fridge, uncovered. This allows the skin to dry out, which makes for crispier skin when it's cooked.

To be sure your turkey is done but not overdone, the reading on your meat thermometer should register 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh and breast.

No matter what you do, make sure you remember to ENJOY the day even if you are the host/hostess!

Were you asked to bring a side to Thanksgiving dinner?  Here is a recipe for a sweet creamed corn casserole that everyone will love!

Recipe From All Recipes

 

 

Ingredients:
Yields 12 servings

½ cup butter
¼ cup white sugar
2 (16 ounce) packages frozen corn kernels, thawed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
1 cup fine dry bread crumbs
3 tablespoons butter, diced

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium low heat. Mix in sugar and stir until dissolved. Mix in corn and stir to coat. Stir in cream cheese and cook until melted and well blended.

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with bread crumbs and dot with butter.

Bake in the preheated oven 20 to 30 minutes, until lightly browned.

Even the kids will eat this one!!
