Advantage Federal Credit Union - student savings
When most of us were young, believe it or not for those who don't know this, there was school savings. A student would fill out an envelope with their name and account number, etc. put some change in the envelope and along with other students, those envelopes would go to a particular bank. Then at the bank the school savings department would open the envelopes, count the money, and record for deposit. This was a simple way for the student to save. Eventually, they could withdraw the savings and have some money for college, or a car, whatever. It was their money that added up over the years. That method went away, however, Advantage FCU has great opportunities for your student to open an account. Take them to any of the branches, have them talk with someone about opening their own account and their very first deposit, which they can continue to add to and watch the balance increase!
Advantage Federal Credit Union has 5 different options for checking accounts click here to read all about them. Once they see their balance increase the incentive is to keep going! Whether they save money from birthdays, Christmas or whatever else, the idea is to save! They may decide " Do I really need this game, or cup of coffee or do i put that money into my savings account?" It's a great start to keep it going. (And for mom and dad, there are lots of options for you too!)
