Veterans Outreach Center Among Organizations Benefiting
from Next Pittsford Rotary Food Drive Nov. 7

The Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) is among organizations benefiting from the Pittsford Rotary Club’s next Drive-thru Food Drive Nov. 7 from 9 to noon at the Pittsford Sutherland High School bus loop. Also receiving donations will be the Pittsford Food Cupboard and the Nazareth College Oak Tree Food Pantry. Rotarians and Interact Club members will be collecting at the drive rain or shine.

The VOC is in particular need of new hats, gloves and socks to help underserved veterans stay warm in the upcoming cold-weather months.

Food pantry items needed for Thanksgiving are frozen turkeys; cranberry sauce; cornbread mix; chicken broth; and apple sauce (jar only).  Other current needs include protein drinks (Ensure); jelly or jam; pancake mix; hearty soup; canned pineapple or fruit cocktail; cleaning supplies; and pet food for dogs and cats. Hygiene items are always needed and gently used magazines are also welcome. We also are in need of bags

Founded locally in 1973 by returning Vietnam Veterans, today’s Veterans Outreach Center remains anchored in our community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families. Through the generosity of our community, all of these programs and services are provided free of charge. VOC’s mssion is to serve veterans with compassion and advocate for all who have worn our nation’s uniform so they can rise and live life to the fullest.

The Pittsford Food Cupboard plays a crucial role in addressing  food insecurity within our community. Donations help ensure that local families have access to essential food items, promoting well-being and stability.

The Oak Tree Pantry serves those experiencing food insecurity in the Nazareth community. The pantry can use granola bars, pasta, peanut butter and hygiene products.

The club conducts food drives the first Saturday of the month at Sutherland High School. Additional information is available at pittsfordrotaryclub.org.
