Did you know that it is estimated that 90 to 95% of all basements will experience a problem with water that could have been prevented with a sump pump, grading and gutters?  Did you know that for every inch of rain the average roof sheds 1000 gallons of water?

HOMEOWNERS SHOULD REGULARLY CHECK THEIR SUMP PUMP TO MAKE SURE IT'S WORKING PROPERLY!

It only takes a little bit of time but it could certainly save you a lot of time and money (and headaches) later.

1.  Add water to the sump basin and observe the operation of the sump pump.

2.  Listen for the check valve to go on and off.

3.  Operate the pump several times to make sure the sump pump stops pumping when the water level is pumped down.

And another tip ... never have your dehumidifier placed next to your sump basin.  This will result in the dehimidifier running excessively without removing the proper moisture.
